FAQs
sometimes, we feel nervous to attend a new yoga class because of the unknown. hopefully these FAQs put your mind at ease and clarify any aspects you may be unsure of.
what do i need for a yoga class?
the most important thing is comfort - comfortable clothing that you can freely move in is perfect. mats/chairs are provided, along with props - however, if you have your own mat/block/strap and would like to bring it with you, you’re very welcome to. a bottle of water is also a good idea, as is a blanket/thick socks for relaxation.
do i need to have practiced yoga before?
absolutely not - my classes are suitable for beginners to attend. i always make a concerted effort to support newbies through a class, offering modifications and alternatives where required.
do i have to be fit to attend?
chair yoga is aimed at all ages and abilities, so it doesn’t matter if you’ve not exercised in years, but some of the mat-based classes require a basic level of fitness. if you have any health conditions, illness or injuries, please ensure you have the go-ahead from your doctor before attending classes.
what style of yoga do you teach?
my mat-based classes are predominantly influenced by hatha yoga - friday flow is more of a vinyasa-style class, meaning the movements are stronger and the transition from pose-to-pose is quicker.
what is chair yoga?
chair yoga is a fully seated ‘mindful movement’ class - we work through a series of movements and static poses to strengthen and lengthen the body, whilst focusing on our breath and being mindful to stay in the moment. these classes are suitable for all ages and abilities.
how do i book a class?
simply click on the ‘book class’ button on the homepage to reserve your mat/chair. payment options are £10 for drop-in or £50 for 6 class pass.
where are your classes held?
all mat-based classes are held at my parent’s beautiful home in Ridgmont, which has a cosy, welcoming feel to it. chair yoga classes are held at Eversholt Village Hall and Barton-le-Clay Methodist Church.
what’s your cancellation policy?
cancellation within 24 hours of the class is non-refundable/non-transferrable. workshops/events have a 14 day cancellation policy.
